Ian Sinclair: One of Africa's leading field birders with over 20 authored or co-authored bird books.
Phil Hockey (1956–2013): Former Director of the Fitz Institute at UCT and recognized authority on the biology of southern African birds.

Peter Ryan: Director of the Fitz Institute at UCT and author of multiple books on the region's birds.
